Tre scienziati dell'Istituto Alfred-Wegener, in Germania, hanno creato un database online chiamato LITTERBASE, con l'obiettivo di centralizzare la ricerca scientifica sull'inquinamento globale dell'oceano. Hanno preso i risultati di 1.267 studi e li hanno trasformati in agili e intuitive mappe interattive e infografiche che rendono le informazioni accessibili e ricercabili per il pubblico. http://litterbase.awi.de/
