Tra le istituzioni economiche e finanziarie più autorevoli e ascoltate al mondo, la Banca mondiale colleziona ogni anno una grandissima mole di dati che vengono poi schematizzati e utilizzati per la creazione di mappe tematiche riguardanti gli ambiti più vari (flusso degli aiuti, emissioni di CO2, terra arabile, prodotto interno lordo, ecc.).
