In gergo si chiama “pastazzo d’arance” e rappresenta il 40% degli agrumi raccolti in Sicilia (più di due milioni di tonnellate all’anno) destinato allo smaltimento. Ma se fino ad oggi scorza, polpa e semi di frutti imperfetti sono stati convertiti in biomasse per le energie rinnovabili, adesso avanzi e sottoprodotti dellʼindustria agrumicola si trasformano in materiale tessile. Orange fiber è l’idea di Adriana Santanocito, esperta in nuovi materiali e tecnologie per la moda, ed Enrica Arena, laurea in Cooperazione internazionale. Il tessuto, del tutto ecosostenibile, viene ricavato grazie alle nanotecnologie e permette anche la realizzazione di abiti vitaminici, che rilasciano sulla pelle i loro principi attivi. http://orangefiber.it/
