La Convenzione internazionale sui diritti economici, sociali e culturali, meglio nota come Patto internazionale sui diritti economici, sociali e culturali è stata adottata nel 1966 ed è entrata in vigore il 3 gennaio 1976.

Il Patto riconosce, in conformità alla Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti dell'Uomo, l’ideale dell’essere umano libero, che goda della libertà dal timore e dalla miseria.
