L’OMS e le emergenze sanitarie

L'OMS, ossia l’Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità (World Health Organization, WHO, in inglese) è l’agenzia speciale dell'ONU per la salute e gioca un duplice ruolo durante le emergenze umanitarie.



Da un lato, è la guida più autorevole al mondo sul trattamento tecnico di quasi tutte le malattie e problematiche sanitarie più importanti.



Dall’altro lato, si occupa di crisi umanitarie, coordinando gli operatori sanitari che operano nelle situazioni d’emergenza.
